Vice President Biden has spent the last two days campaigning in New Hampshire, bypassing a California event that drew most of his closest competitors. Why the focus on New Hampshire for Biden? Biden knows that he must win or come in second if he wants to win the nomination. He also knows that he is up against two neighboring state U.S. senators in Sanders and Warren. In short, he has his work cut out for him in New Hampshire. He also has long memories from 2008, the last time he ran for President. Senator Clinton would edge out then Senator Obama in the 2008 primary, but long forgotten is that Biden came in sixth that year, racking up a total of 638 votes or 0.2% of the votes cast (trailing Clinton, Biden, Edwards, Richardson and Kucinich). No wonder he is focused on New Hampshire this year. We think it’s the right strategy for Biden. He can’t afford to place third or fourth in New Hampshire.
